Black pioneers: The forgotten men of medicine


I thought Black History Month (October in Europe) would be the perfect opportunity to share the stories of two amazing figures in the history of cardiac surgery, Hamilton Naki and Vivien Thomas. Separated by thousands of kilometres but with striking parallels - both brilliant surgeons without any formal training. Black men making huge contributions to science in the face of intense racism.
